About my Photography
I’m a photographer based in New York City, drawn to the details of people and places. My work is rooted in the darkroom, where I develop my own black-and-white film. I love the patience of the process and how monochrome strips an image down to light, texture, and feeling. I also shoot color film when a scene calls for it, and occasionally pick up a digital camera.
My favorite subject is people. I photograph family and friends, and I’m just as interested in the strangers I pass in New York City, whose brief moments I try to hold onto. I’m also drawn to statues, which feel like portraits that have been standing still for centuries. Beyond portraiture, I photograph the home, the body, and landscapes, looking for intimacy in ordinary spaces and stillness in wide-open ones.
Across all of it, I’m interested in what’s lasting: a gesture, a glance, a particular kind of light.
